ROGERS & BUTLER RELEASES DEBUT FULL-LENGTH CD

TITLED POETS & SINNERS VIA ZIP RECORDS ON JUNE 26

"I love the new release from Rogers & Butler, their second in as many years. Much of the album focuses on the plight of the salt of earth with poignant relevance to the current moment. Having been treated to a preview of the songs one cold winter night a few months back, 'Olde Store Fronts' grabbed me on first listen with a melancholy and beautiful but stomping melody”

Delphine Blue, WFUV

After releasing a well-received, four-song EP, Diana Dors, Rogers & Butler is now releasing its first full-length album, Poets & Sinners, on Zip Records on June 26th. With Poets & Sinners, Rogers & Butler display their stunning melodic songwriting talents, and along with Don Piper’s production skills, have delivered their strongest music to date with eleven brand-new compositions. Rogers & Butler are joined by some of New York City’s best known musicians: Sal Maida (Roxy Music, Sparks), Dennis Diken (Smithereens), Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs) and Don Piper (Marty Willson-Piper). Early press response has been excellent:

With their first full length collaboration, Poets & Sinners, Rogers & Butler have found an ideal symmetry that brings out the best in them both. (4.5 stars)  American Songwriter

With the two ebullient, sound-alike, Ray Davies-evoking crooners trading lead vocals, their debut full-length continues the melodic, jocular, and robust pop/rock of 2019’s Diana Dors EP.  The Big Takeover

Sitting firmly in a pop tradition that marries Mick Ronson to Marmalade on some mythical Carnaby Street USA, it’s a seamless pairing and meshing of styles. And if you thought there were no instantly-memorable singalong choruses left to be written in that sort of idiom, you’ll be happy to find out just how wrong you were. (4 stars)  Shindig! Magazine

The first single, "Olde Store Fronts" has garnered early airplay, most notably on The Loft at Sirius Radio (Meg Griffin), WFUV (Rita Houston's The Whole Wide World) and Q104.3/iHeart Radio to name just a few.

“I played this last week, but I want to play it again this week because it really is so immersed in what's going on right now."

Meg Griffin, Sirius XM (May 10, 2020)

During this isolation period, Rogers & Butler, along with producer/guitarist Don Piper, also made two videos for the single.

They also opened for The Zombies on several dates in the U.S. last summer. Rogers & Butler were scheduled to open for The Zombies in the UK this month (June), but tour plans were put on hold.
